Juan Williams to Headline World Journalism Institute's Pre-UNITY 08 Conference for Minority Journalists New York, N.Y., April 23, 2008 - The World Journalism Institute has announced that Juan Williams, Senior Correspondent for National Public Radio, will headline a one-day conference in Chicago, July 22, preceding UNITY '08, the largest gathering of journalists in the country.
In an effort to save postage and paper, the World Journalism Institute is no longer printing the quarterly WJI Times Observer. Instead, the Times Observer is being published online bi-monthly, enabling more regular communication with alumni, friends and supporters.
Manny Garcia, award-winning journalist with the Miami Herald and a guest teacher of WJI, was the featured speaker February 8, at Campbell University (Buies Creek, N.C.), where he spoke on investigative reporting.
Mere blocks away from the headquarters of the major national media outlets, aspiring journalists and their advisors from nine different universities met at the King's College in New York City for WJI's Conference for Christian Student Editors and Advisors on March 14-15.
