Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Environmental Scientist for employment in the Morrisville, NC office. AECOM is pleased to include you in a unique development opportunity, the Graduate Development Program (GDP). This program is designed to support your assimilation into the organization and assist with creating a foundation of knowledge for a successful career at AECOM. You will gain experience in your discipline through learning on the job and participate in development opportunities during the program, including access to AECOM's social media resources, group mentoring, and professional networking. The program also has learning activities that will be available to you, including webinars and on-line programs.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Working in teams and performing tasks for projects involving air quality-related environmental permitting and compliance services

  • Tasks include creating spreadsheets, compiling and analyzing environmental data, calculating air emissions, developing/updating permit compliance tracking tools and reports, assisting with preparation of air permit applications, and writing technical reports and other documents

  • Analyze available information to help develop strategies to successfully complete each assigned task

  • Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • ?Valid U.S. Driver's License

  • Must be a U.S. citizen

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Environmental Engineering or Science, Paper Engineering, or Related Engineering or Scientific Field

  • Must be able to proficiently use PC- based applications (e.g., MS Word and Excel)

  • Must be highly motivated and have: (1) strong organizational and time management skills, (2) strong written and oral communication, quantitative, and interpersonal skills, (3) strong work ethic and professional demeanor, (4) attention to detail

  • Demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude and attention to detail/ownership of work products

  • Must have good teamwork skills but also be able to function independently on specific tasks

  • Periodic travel may be required
